Occurence Cetalkonium Chloride is an antiseptic agent and a desinfactant. In the medical field it is to be found 

• in mouth and throat remedies (gels) 
• in desinfectants such as gargles 
• in remedies for the treatment of eye infections (eye emulsions and eye drops) 
• in cleaning agents for artificial eyes
